This booklet aims to provide an understanding on the importance of ‘Firestop Systems’ in achieving effective compartmentation in line with the requirements of National Building Code 2016. Furthermore, it provides basic ideas on various applications of Firestop and also throws light on Testing, Design, Installation, Inspection and Maintenance of Firestop systems in various types of building. This booklet is an effort to update the knowledge on passive fire protection in India and I hereby recommend Architects, consultants, Builders, developers, contractors, risk managers, AHJ’s and other stakeholders in the fire safety community to go through this booklet to gain further understanding on the ‘Firestops’ and thereby and property is increasing day by day due to Fire incidents across India ‘containment’ is seldom practiced by its users of the Active & Passive Fire Protection systems come up with smart buildings that aims to save lives and protect assets.
